Some filming locations can’t be saved by one family alone—it takes a community to keep movie history alive.
Our Backstory
Amber Neufeld (founder and President of Reel Places Preservation Foundation) purchased, restored, and brought the Twilight Swan House back to its on-screen look—transforming it into a living piece of film history. The project stretched her family to their financial limits, yet proved successful in making an iconic filming location accessible to the fandom. That experience revealed both the power and the limits of doing this work alone.
Many filming locations simply cannot sustain themselves through tourism, and private investment often isn’t enough to save them. Some places need something bigger: a community effort. Fans, creators, and cultural supporters working together to preserve what matters before it’s lost to time or redevelopment. That realization sparked Reel Places—a foundation built to take the mission beyond personal means, turning shared passion into lasting preservation.
